  • 25 populations of 17 state-rare plant species documented historically
  • Some of the plants disjunct from the higher mountains to the west:
    Black ash (Fraxinus nigra)
    Goldie's wood fern (Dryoteris goldiana)
    Slender mannagrass (Glyceria melicaria)
    Staghorn clubmoss (Lycopodium clavatum)
    Round-leaf orchid (Platanthera orbiculata)
    Great rhododendron (Rhododendron maxima)
    Northern starflower (Trientalis borealis)
    American false hellebore (Veratrum viride)
  • American chestnut (Castanea dentata) regenerated from old rootstocks
  • A globally rare tiger beetle (Cicindela patruela)
  • Seven watch-listed species of damselflies and dragonflies
  • Two state watch-listed groundwater amphipods
  • Disjunct populations of timber rattlesnakes (Crotalus horridus) and common ravens (Corvus corax)
